Last night we went to see Ingrid Michaelson at the Theater of the Living Arts in Philadelphia. The theater is located right on South Street which is known for its "bohemian" atmosphere and its wide variety of shops and eateries of many different styles. The street is comparable to a large outdoor mall, with the occasional bar and club providing live music. We would say that it is somewhat similar to Colorado Blvd in Pasadena but a little more eclectic and lacking a significant amount of plastic surgery.
For those that don't know, Ingrid Michaelson is the artist who sang our first dance song.
We were fortunate enough to be able to meet her in person.
Here is Kelly holding our now signed CDs.
There was some time in between our meet and greet and the show so we headed into South Street to explore.
We of course had to have a Philly Cheesesteak!
In regard to the cheesesteak, Kelly says "Oh my God so good!"
Here is a um... well I don't really know but it was outside of a Mexican restaurant on the street.
Here is Jons which sits on the location were Larry Fine was born. For those of you who aren't cultured, Larry was one of the Three Stooges.
South Street is getting ready for Christmas.
Penn's Landing is the waterfront area of the city along the Delaware River. It is so named because the founder of Pennsylvania, William Penn, was supposed to have first docked here in 1682.
Ready for the show!
So... we had to wait in line to get in and the venue decided it was smart to have everyone stand in a dark alley around the corner. Apparently this happens quite often as I found a note from a previous stander.
Here we are inside the theater.
The theater has a bunch of chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. Ingrid decided to invite the audience to bust out their old prom attire. Here is Allie Moss, Bess Rogers, and Ingrid all glammed up for the show.
Our view wasn't too shabby.
Look! I caught a bootleggers video recording in action!
And Finally we have a special Shout Out! to Hannah Beal who sent us her "spiderling" from school. We will be bringing this little spider around the Amish country for a few days and then returning her home to CA.
