Sunday was the last of the Spring Training Games for the Lancaster Barnstormers and it was a beautiful weekend so Ron and I headed out to support our hometown team at Clipper Magazine Stadium.
The place was empty since the season hadn't quite started but that gave us the chance to meet with "Cylo" the team mascot. "Cylo" was a great animator - he harassed the other team, sat in the stands with kids, pretended to send bad vibes to the opposing pitcher and danced on top of the dugout. Ron told "Cylo" what a great job he was doing but I'm not sure he understood what a huge compliment that was coming from a former Disney Character Manager of 12 years.
It was open seating so we got great seats and thankfully didn't get pelted by one of the many foul balls.
There is plenty for kids to do when their attention strays from the game. The outfield has a marry-go-round, bouce houses, a park and bumper boats!
During the game, Dave Flood went up to bat. A 3'2" his strike zone is very small and he was able to walk.
The Barnstormers won the game 9 to 4 (York).
